From Balloon Sculpture to Party Paradise: The Story of Eat and Be Hoopy
Back in 2022, a local mom posted on Front Porch Forum looking for someone to make a balloon sculptures for her child’s birthday. It wasn’t something I planned, but it felt like a calling. As an artist with a “why not?” spirit, I said yes. and I volunteered my teen who knew how to do the balloon sculpting !
That one simple “yes” set everything into motion.
What started as a single party, quickly grew into something bigger.
My family and I began combining our skills—decorating, organizing, playing, and of course, hooping—and before we knew it, we were hosting our very first party. What felt like a happy accident turned into something much more: a way to celebrate childhood, community, and play.
Fast-forward to today: Eat and Be Hoopy is no longer just a pop-up idea. It’s now a brick-and-mortar party and play paradise in Burlington, Vermont. A place where families can gather, kids can explore sensory play and movement, and parents can finally breathe easy knowing we handle the setup, the magic, and the mess.
Behind the scenes, our journey has been fueled by love, laughter, and a whole lot of learning. Every party teaches us something new. Every family reminds us why this matters. And every hoop dance disco keeps us centered on joy.
Now, when families walk through our private doors, they don’t just see balloons. They see a space that’s been designed with care: colorful stations, hula hoops and scooters, craft corner, music, and cozy places to play. A space that invites children to shine and grown-ups to relax.
